Tasting Notes

Beans currently on offer can be bought in the Members Area

Last year, good Kenyan coffee was a rare thing indeed.

The Greenguys found a treasure of a Kenyan (the Fine Estate AA) and very quickly rid themselves of whatever stock they had. I grabbed a bag for personal use, which has just about run dry.
I was wondering where I was going to find a good replacement, when along came a sample of Kenya Premium Gallia. This is a new shipment only just clearing quarantine.

Background information on the bean is scarce, but the Kenya Premium Gallia is a high quality estate bean.
It’s feature is that it is extremely well balanced with good depth of flavour. It has the classic full body of a typical Kenyan, with delicate acidity and a smooth winey flavour.
An excellent example of a Kenya AA which can be drunk on it’s own, or blended.

Roasting Notes
The sample displayed loud and obvious first crack, and was taken to the first snap of second, then rested for 4 days. The roast was nice and even, although worth noting that the appearance was a little darker than expected for the stage of roast.

This will be our next bean offer to be made this week.
